5. Flat Stanley Goes To Hildene And Moose Fest!

The last of the Flat Stanleys which have been invited to visit thus far went out today (including one to New Zealand!), putting us at 62 Flat Stanleys out and about!

We received this message today from Carly in Virginia stating the following:

"Just so you can let Alexa know, Stanley, My friend Dawn, & I are all going to Washington DC tomorrow! He will likely see the Washington & Lincoln Memorials, The Vietnam Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, and possibly Arlington Cemetery. We may venture over to the Holocaust Museum to put flowers down as well. Stanley will be a part of current events too."

It sounds like Stanley will be doing a lot of cool things there in DC!

And we received this message from Elizabeth in Connecticut:

"Hi Alexa! Its Flat Stanley emailing from CT! We've had so much fun here. I arrived on Wed and we had a pretty calm day. It was really rainy here which is pretty normal for New England weather. Then Thurs I accompanied Maxwell and Gavin to their tumbling class, they were so funny running around and having fun with their friends. Today, we are having a relaxing day again because my little host Maxwell is a bit tired. Tomorrow I think Ill accompany Maxwell to his Nana's house where we will spend the night though, oh the fun we will have!

I'm really happy here in CT but I can't wait to come home to you and show you my new clothes!!

Love, Flat Stanley!"

We are looking forward to seeing your new clothes! Have fun at Nana's house :)

I also received Flat Stanley pictures from my mom who took him to Vermont this week. The first one is Flat Stanley in the formal gardens behind Hildene (Robert Lincoln's estate):

This is Flat Stanley at the Shaftsbury Dump "swap shop" (where people can dump things they think other people might want to take):

This is Flat Stanley looking at Abraham Lincoln's hat:

This is Flat Stanley with a small moose which was decorated by kids at the local elementary school (for "Moose Fest"):

These two are more of the moose Stanley saw at Moosefest (I love the ice cream one)!

That Stanley left us this email last night:

"Hi Alexa,
I had a great time in Vermont! Saw and did a lot of things.
But I do miss you and am looking forward to coming back home
tomorrow. I will be bringing pictures and souvenirs.
Love from Flat Stanley"
